Adding natural plant extracts can reduce feed costs and farm odours

According to scientist at the recent 242nd National Meeting of Exposition of the American Cemical Society (ACS), adding natural plant extracts can reduce feed costs and the odours on farms. One of the issues with odours is cow urine which is the source of ammonia emissions. Three studies were carried out, to determine how adding plant extracts called tannins to cow feed affects the emission of ammonia from dairy barn floors and farm fields fertilized with mixtures of cow manure and urine.
