Bio fuels research moving onto other feedstocks

The US department of agriculture announced a payment of US$3.1 million (€2.267 million) payment to UC Davis for research into alternative bio fuels. The research led by researchers at the University of Washington, well the US biofuels industry are mainly focused on corn-based ethanol, there is interest in alternative feed-stocks like tree trunks and limbs, leaves. This new grant, and another for the same amount to be led by Washington State University, will begin to fill in those blanks. Read more ...
