Blaze at the Wallaroo silos Australia

Fire fighters have extinguished a gantry blaze at the Wallaroo silos, preventing it from spreading to the grain. Crews arrived at the scene since before 6:00 am. the fire broke out in machinery which moves the conveyor belt to transport the grain. Locals were warned to keep well clear of the area because of the risk of an explosion. Police evacuated residents of the area near Chatfield Terrace, creating an 800-metre exclusion zone. A truck with a hydraulic ladder was sent from Adelaide to help tackle the fire. The same silos had a fire emergency in 2010. Read more ...
