Protein feed of animal origin imports has been banned by Russia

Russia has implemented a complete embargo on imports of protein feeds of animal origins from all European Union countries. This decision was made "in connection with the need to harmonize Russian legislation with international "as well as taking into account multiple detections of ruminant DNA in imported feed.

This poses a risk of letting spongiform encephalopathy agents (so-called "mad cow disease") on the territory of Russia. The restriction that has been put in place applies to processed animal protein intended for feeding to productive animals. Read more ...
