The German authorities announced on Wednesday that the controversial and highly poisonous chemical dioxin had been discovered above the permitted level in eggs from a German farm, but they see no danger to the public. During routine tests carried out on the farm it was discovered that the eggs were found to be contaminated with six times the permitted level of dioxin. The farm located in the central German state of North Rhine Westphalia.
The eggs of two of the four houses contained up to six times above the limit concentration of dioxin-like PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls). PCBs can be equaled to dioxin, a spokesman of the ministry said. The farm holds 25,000 organic hens and supplies supermarkets in the area. The farm has been sealed off and is not permitted to sell more eggs, the state ministry said. Read more ...

but this being Germany chances are the eggs will not be destroyed .I live here ( 25years now ) when there is a scare in any land Germany is the 1st to boycot products and destroy ...BUT whe its in there country they say OK its 6x higher than permitted etc but it's ok .They profess they are green and clearly think we are !
