Flour mill contents go under the hammer

Sanderson Weatherall to stage online auction of contents of Healings Flour Mill

The contents of Healings Flour Mill in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire are being auctioned online by property consultants Sanderson Weatherall.

The mill - which produced flour on this site until its closure in November 2006 - was acquired by a Midlands-based property developer for an undisclosed sum in 2012 after ADM Milling put the freehold of the site up for sale.

The new owners of the building in Quay Street have instructed property consultants Sanderson Weatherall - which has a local office in Bristol - to auction the contents of flour milling, grain cleaning and pelleting plant and equipment including weighers, roller mills, sifters, packing equipment, hoppers and conveyors.

Major lots include a grain storage complex and eight 250-tonne corrugated steel grain storage silos, 10 70-tonne flour storage silos and two concrete platform loadcell weighbridges.
The online auction is being staged via www.bidspotter.co.uk from 12 noon on Thursday, March 21, 2013.

Viewing of the contents of Healings Flour Mill is strictly by appointment with Sanderson Weatherall.
Also available for sale by private treaty for dismantling and removal are a 2,315 sq metre steel framed warehouse and a 720 sq metre steel framed vehicle service building.

Roy Tubman, partner asset advisory and recovery - machinery and business assets at Sanderson Weatherall, is staging the auction and said: “The sale represents a rare opportunity for millers to acquire essential plant and equipment because an entire full flour mill such as Healings very rarely comes on the market in the UK.

“We expect a lot of demand from overseas purchasers and have already received enquiries from India, Pakistan and Africa.”
