Transporting grain for the mountainous northeastern states via
Bangladesh has begun.
After getting the green signal from Dhaka, the Food Corporation of
India (FCI) had initiated the process to transport food grain and
essentials using the Bangladeshi river port and the roadways connected
to the northeastern states.
A Kenyan scientist has developed two new varieties of hybrid maize that are resistant to the deadly parasitic Striga weed.
The weed affects cereal crops in many parts of Africa and is a major cause of crop failure in East Africa, where climate change has been driving its spread.
Jim Drouillard, professor of animal sciences and industry at Kansas State University, has come up with a way to help livestock producers
stimulate growth of cattle and horses.
According to a recent news release from K-State, a feed supplement developed by Drouillard has been patented.
