12/06/2013: Richardson to spend C$40 million on expanding sites; smarter rules for safer food; propane-fueled grain dryers

The European Commission has published a package of proposals to revise the current legislation governing health controls in the food and agriculture industries. The proposed plans will potentially affect all those involved in the production, manufacture, supply and regulation of food, feed, live animals, plants and plant reproductive material such as seeds.

The Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) is encouraging producers to upgrade their grain dryers by offering a $5,000 incentive through the Propane Farm Incentive Program.

 Producers who purchase a new qualifying propane-fueled dryer from GSI Group or Mathews Co. now through the end of 2013 can apply for the incentive through PERC’s nationwide research program.
