In collaboration with the Irish Equine Centre, scientists at Queen’s University Belfast, Northern Ireland are to develop a new way to test for illegal drugs used in horses and cattle.
With the potential to revolutionise animal drug testing, this will be the first animal doping test to work by detecting and monitoring the known biological effects of a banned substance, rather than the presence of the substance itself.

China National Cereals, Oils and Foodstuffs Corporation (Cofco), the country's largest food processing holding company recently announced it has placed an offer in the hope of securing a minority stake in Netherlands-based grain trader Nidera BV.
A stake in Rotterdam-based Nidera would give Cofco access to grain-producing areas in Latin America.

Argentina will allow local farmers to export 1.5 million tons of
wheat, Axel Kicillof, the country's minister of economy announced in a statement yesterday. Argentina is facing grain scarcities and in a bid to curb inflation, the local government does not allow farmers to choose when they export.
According to Kicillof, roughly 500,000 tons can be exported immediately, with the remaining
million released gradually.
