A grain shuttle expansion project is underway at the Pampa Energy Center, ConnectAmarillo.com reports.
Attebury Grain LLC, and its affiliate Rampa Inc are upgrading its operation in the Eastern Texas Panhandle.
The multi-million dollar investment will enable them to open new markets for local farmers, competitive grain inputs for end users such as feed lots, dairies and hog farmers.
Under construction are two new grain silos which will be adjacent to an unloading pit that will be attached to 2 miles of rail track that connect in to the BNSF Rail line.
"We've been pouring concrete foundations for about a month," said Kirk Folkner, Grain Market Strategist.
"Weather permitting we should have the silos finished by June and then the track refurbished and hopefully operations up and running this summer."
Each silo will be able to hold 535,000 bushels.
By working with the Pampa Economic Development Corporation and Gray County, Attebury Grain LLC received a 5 year tax abatement on the project.
Attebury Grain LLC is the largest grain storage company in Texas and sixth in the nation.
