Russia’s grain harvest to be third largest in post-Soviet history
Russia is on pace to produce its third largest grain harvest in post-Soviet history, according to SovEcon.

The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) estimates in a report released this week, that US farm incomes will fall 36 percent to US$58.3 billion due to high carryover grain inventories and anticipated bumper corn and soybean crops keeping pressure on commodity prices while input costs dropped only slightly, cutting into farm incomes.

Between 2000 and 2014, EU production of canola seed increased from 11.3 million tons to 24.3 million tons, but over that time span, domestic use of the crop increased from 10.9 million tons to 25.6 million tons, making the EU a net importer of canola seed, according to the European Commission.

United Soybean Board (USB) member Annie Dee of Pickens County, Alabama, helped to host the board’s See for Yourself program July 30-August 7, traveling to St Louis, then China and Vietnam with 10 non-USB farmer-participants and two media members to give US soybean growers the opportunity to become better acquainted with their customers.

Sunstar.com reports that the Philippine Palm Oil Development Council Inc is considering another 300,000 hectares for the expansion of palm oil production between 2015 and 2023 as part of a plan to make the country self-sufficient in the crop.
