“This expansion will allow for an additional 7.5 million bushels of spring wheat per year to be processed here in North Dakota into top quality flour sold across the country,” said members of the North Dakota Industrial Commission in a joint statement.  “The G-Mill will increase the North Dakota Mill’s total economic impact to the region by over $150 million per year.”

“The increasing demand from our current customers has driven the need for expanding our milling capacity. We will continue to leverage our consistent high quality, high level customer service and plant/transportation efficiency to drive growth,” said Mill General Manager Vance Taylor.

A total of $38.8 million was approved by the Industrial Commission for the G Mill and Flour Storage projects in September of 2014.  Major contractors were VAA Engineering, Ocrim Spa., CETEC, Vigen Construction and Fusion Electric.  With eight milling units totaling 49,500 cwts. per day the North Dakota Mill is the largest single site wheat flour mill and the 7th largest milling company in the United States.

The North Dakota Mill, officially the North Dakota Mill and Elevator Association, was established in 1922 and is overseen by the Industrial Commission of North Dakota, consisting of Gov. Jack Dalrymple, Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem and Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring.
