Iranian government revises wheat purchase price



The Iranian government has expressed plans to purchase about 70 percent of the crops produced in the country. Accordingly, it has increased the price of local season wheat purchases for the second time in a year.

According to the information provided by the Iranian Ministry of Agriculture, this season, the minimum support price to buy wheat from Iranian farmers has been increased by 50 percent and will reach 2.5 million rials (about 14 USD) per 100kg.

The guaranteed purchase price announced by the government for wheat means that at least 10.5 million mt of the crop will be purchased from farmers.
