Register now for the Online Milling School's session on feed mill management

The Online Milling School (OMS) winter course's 9th session on feed mill management will be taking place Wednesday March 3 at 2pm Bangkok time (GMT+7).

The efficient operation of feed mills is a critical key to profitability and success. The session highlights the necessary management skills required, together with some of the tools available to deliver cost savings such as challenging key performance indicators, energy utilization, overall equipment effectiveness and effective preventative maintenance.

Speakers

Dr. Charles Stark
Professor in Feed Technology
Dr. Charles Stark is the Jim and Carol Brown Professor in Feed Technology at Kansas State University. Dr. Stark received his degrees in animal sciences (B.S.) and grain science (M.S., Ph.D.) at Kansas State University. Before joining K-State he was an assistant professor in the Prestage Department of Poultry Science at North Carolina State University for seven years. Dr. Stark also spent 12 years in the animal feed industry with responsibilities in feed manufacturing, quality assurance, and plant operations. Over the course of his career he has published 45 journal articles, 7 extension bulletins, 4 book chapters, and 102 abstracts. He has also been an invited speaker at 29 conferences in 16 different countries.
Dr. Stark has a joint faculty appointment in the Departments of Grain Science & Industry (75%) and Animal Sciences & Industry (25%). He serves as the faculty coordinator of the new O.H. Kruse Feed Technology Innovation Center and Cargill Feed Safety Research Center. A primary focus of the O.H. Kruse Feed Technology Innovation Center is the training of the next generation of feed industry leaders through student internships and extension workshops. His extension program provides outreach in the areas of feed safety, quality assurance, and feed processing technology to the citizens of Kansas, the United States, and people throughout the world. The emphasis of his current research is the testing of new products and feed manufacturing processes that allow animal agriculture to efficiently produce a safe food supply of meat, milk, and eggs.

Ryan Alan S. Celis
A mechanical engineer by training Ryan started with San Miguel Philippines in 1988 and undertook various positions, including head of Maintenance, Plant Engineer and latterly Manufacturing Manager for the company's feed milling operations based in Manila.

He set up his own engineering and consultancy company in 1998 specialising in project engineering, feed mill construction and fabrication and project management.
He currently runs his own feedmill in southern Philippines contract manufacturing for various feed companies.

Online Milling School's Winter Course 2020-21
Sessions will run every Wednesday (excluding public holidays) through to mid-March 2021. It is broadcast at 2pm Bangkok Time (GMT+7) and will comprise both live and recorded presentations plus host a dynamic Q&A session each week!

Each Session will be re-broadcast again on Thursday each week at 10:00 Chicago Time to reach the industry in North, Central and South America.

The 'Feed Milling Production Management' Certificate
Our Certificate validates your attendance and demonstrates to your company, co-workers and future employers that you have a greater understanding and knowledge of the complete feed milling process.

Following the completion of the first Course in October 2020, on average 45 percent of students completed all 12 Session and obtained the much valued OMS Certificate of Attainment.

The Winter 2020-21 Course in detail
There are 12 individual 2-hour Sessions that make up The Feed Milling Production Management Course. This Course has been restructured to follow the production process more closely from start-to-finish and has an additional number of presenters.

There will be an opportunity at the end of the course to catch up on any courses missed for those who have signed up for the full 12 sessions. We have invited those who have completed several of the 2020 first course to attend the courses they have missed in this the Winter Course if they wish to complete and achieve the Certificate of Attainment.
