This talk will provide insights about the implications of official practices on the contribution of the global grain trade to world food security and resilient food systems'. It will also showcase the work of the IGTC; the complex network of the logistics value chain occupies a crucial position in the food systems space and is most effective when commercial solutions are based on sound practice and innovation.
Day 2 takes place June 9th, 2021
There will be a session at 13.00 - 13.45 (GMT+1 time zone) discussing the benefits and challenges of E-Phyto in Africa.
E-Phyto is short for 'electronic phytosanitary certificate'. An ePhyto is the electronic equivalent of a phytosanitary certificate in XML format. It represents a trade facilitation tools and a implication of the administrative procedure for many countries.
This talk features; Josiah Syanda, Senior Manager, Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Service (KEPHIS); Katy Lee, Secretariat, International Grain Trade Coalition (IGTC); and Arnaud Petit, Executive Director, International Grains Council, (IGC).
