Today is the last physical day for SPACE!

Today is the last physical day of SPACE. Tomorrow, Friday 17th September, the show will be 100 percent digital and will mark the end of this 35th edition of the international animal production show.

Today's programme includes 33 conferences on topics such as animal feed and well-being, a focus on the Spanish agricultural market and many others. The international dimension of SPACE has once again been demonstrated, with African delegations coming to the show. Aly Saleh Diop, Senegal's Minister of Livestock and Animal Production, and Modibo Keita, Mali's Minister of Rural Development, came to the SPACE yesterday to get inspired by the French agricultural model in order to guarantee the agricultural sovereignty of their respective countries.

Indeed, the livestock industry in both countries is currently facing challenges. The Malian minister says, 'We must revolutionise our livestock farming by taking inspiration from the French successes'.

This year was also an opportunity for exhibitors to reconnect with their customers. Indeed, due to the Covid crisis, SPACE could not be held physically in 2020. This is why exhibitors from the different halls of the Parc-Expo in Rennes were pleased to be able to be there and exchange with farmers. Some exhibitors regretted the lack of international visitors who could not attend, but all expressed their joy at being in Rennes this year.

SPACE is however not over yet, because tomorrow online conferences are happening throughout the day. Here are few:

  • At 9:00 AM - "Trends in aquaculture hatcheries"
  • At 9:30 AM - A focus on Vietnam's agricultural market
  • At 10:30 AM - "With current attacks on livestock farming, how do we communicate positively?"
  • At 11:00 AM - "Imagine the Feed Mill of the Future"
  • At 11:00 AM - "Advances in Ingredients and Formulation"
  • At 2:00 PM - "Poultry and Omega 3"

A full report of this 35th edition of SPACE will also be published in a future issue of Milling and Grain. If you have not subscribed yet you can do so HERE.
