Marata Group chooses Alapala for its new 600 TPD turnkey greenfield flour mill investment

Marata Group of Sergipe, Brazil has recently assigned a high-capacity turnkey greenfield flour mill project to Alapala, one of the two leading players of the global milling sector which stands out among its competitors with over 650+ reference projects worldwide.

As one of Brazil's largest fast moving consumer goods producers, and today being among the ten most chosen brands of general products of mass consumption in supermarkets in Brazil according to the Kantar Brand Footprint ranking, Marata Group has been in the market for over 50 years.

Chaired by José Augusto Vieira, with Frank Vieira as general director, the Group offers quality and innovation to consumers and continuously develops new products using new technologies. It comprises a conglomerate of companies operating in the most diverse market segments including food, agrobusiness (livestock, corn and citrus farming), disposables, plastic packages, civil construction and export. Recently, the Group has decided to make its first investment in the milling sector.

After a tight evaluation process the Group decided to work with Alapala thanks to its experience, know-how and expertise of over 60 years in the global milling industry. Collaborating with Ampla, its partner in the region, Alapala will be providing the entire plant from project design and construction to automation and engineering. Backed by regional partnership, the project shall be built, completed and supported with service, warehouse and local management of Alapala in the region together with Ampla.

Marata Group's new mill, with a high capacity of 600T/24h, comprises of 26 roller mills, five plansifters, and seven purifiers.

In addition to the above mentioned equipment, Alapala will be supplying the internal steel silos to be used in the mill, as well as comprehensive services including project design and management, automation, engineering, installation supervision, and commissioning.

Combining tradition with innovation, Alapala is well known for its highly robust automation systems, using Scada software and remote connection. These systems enable the entire process from wheat intake to flour packaging to be monitored centrally, offering integrated process control and traceability advantages, along with advanced report generation for data such as production, yield, efficiency, etc. Thanks to the remote connection feature offered by Alapala, the mill can be accessed 24/7 from anywhere in the world for technical assistance including inspection, error diagnosis, calibration, and troubleshooting.

Committed to its mission of developing and providing products and services that meet the needs of its customers, Marata Group's new mill to be delivered by Alapala will source its raw materials overseas (Argentina and Canada) suppliers to produce bakery and cake flour for domestic use and export.
