Grain purchase prices of the Turkish Grain Board for the period of 2023 have been announced

In line with the data received from TURKSTAT, it is estimated that the production will be 20.5 million tons in wheat with an increase of 3.8% and 8.6 million tons in barley with an increase of 1.2% compared to the previous year.

The purchase prices announced yesterday are 8.250 TL/Ton (appr. 392 USD/Ton) for bread wheat and 7.000 TL/Ton (appr. 333 USD/Ton) for barley.

The terms of purchase announced by Turkish Grain Board are as follows:

  1. Turkish Grain Board will carry out purchasing activities in approximately 310 workplaces throughout Türkiye and in licensed warehouses (230 points) with which protocols have been signed.
  2. Licensed warehousing companies that have signed a protocol with Turkish Grain Board are published on the internet address of www.tmo.gov.tr and the producers will be able to sell their products delivered to these warehouses to Turkish Grain Board as Electronic Product Certificate (ELUS).
  3. Turkish Grain Board will continue the appointment system that it has implemented in order to prevent manufacturers from waiting for a long time in front of their workplaces.
  4. Purchases will be made at TMO workplaces 6 days a week, excluding Sundays.
  5. Payments will be transferred to the bank accounts of the producers within 30 days following the product delivery (TMO and ELUS).
  6. Supports; 2% withholding tax, 2% SSI premium deduction exemption, 25 TL/Ton (appr. 1,20 USD/Ton) transportation support up to 750 TL (appr. 35,71 USD), 25 TL (appr. 1,20 USD) analysis support per vehicle, warehouse rental fee support, as well as Turkish Republic Ziraat Bank and Agricultural Credit Cooperatives have the opportunity to use 9-month loans with zero interest (0%) up to 75% of the product price.
  7. In 2023, by the Ministry of Agriculture, in order to encourage grain production; Wheat and barley producers registered in the Farmer Registration System (ÇKS) will be provided with an additional grain production premium support of 1,000 TL (appr. 47,62 USD) for wheat and 500 TL (23,80 USD) for barley per ton for sales made to all segments (TMO or market actors) as much as the registered production amount.
  8. Wheat, barley, rye, oat and triticale will be purchased from the producers registered in the Farmer Registration System (ÇKS) up to the production amount registered in the system on product basis.
  9. The stock market registration fee of the product sold to Turkish Grain Board (TMO) workplaces will be covered by TMO.
  10. No unloading fee will be charged.
  11. Service Fee (1%) will be deducted at temporary reception centres.
  12. In workplaces that make purchases through the commodity exchange, manufacturers will be able to sell their products to TMO both through the exchanges and directly by coming to their workplaces by making an appointment. Manufacturers who want to deliver products to the licensed warehouse through the Exchange will be able to deliver their product and sell it to TMO via ELUS without the need for an appointment.
