September 11, 2023 - The 37th edition of SPACE will be held from Tuesday 12 to Thursday 14 September at the Rennes Exhibition Centre, and will be dedicated to energy as well as many new features.
The theme of energy will very much be at the forefront of the Exhibition's discussions and presentations, as it represents a fast-moving and significant turning point for the entire world of agriculture, and for animal farming in particular. With energy costs on the rise, farmers need to find solutions to make their production tools more efficient. These new challenges involve developing the skills and knowledge needed to use and manage this new equipment. Furthermore, there are numerous opportunities for farmers to become energy suppliers: photovoltaics, mechanisation, etc. Faced with these changes and the many questions they raise, SPACE is here to give its exhibitors the chance to present their products and solutions, compare various options available, get advice from the experts to help them make the right choices, and plan their investments with all the information they need at their fingertips.
More than 1200 exhibitors
This year's edition already promises to be a major highlight for the entire animal farming world, with 1207 exhibitors registered (around a hundred more than in 2022), including 247 new exhibitors. There will be 365 international exhibitors from 39 different countries. Almost 100,00 visitors are expected to visit the Exhibition over the three days. The animal feed and nutrition sectors, as well as the energy and outdoor equipment sectors, are showing significant growth compared to last year.
The world of animal farming meets up at SPACE
A large number of international visitors are also expected to visit Rennes this year. After a drop in the number of visitors during Covid in 2020 and 2021, international delegations are once again expected to turn up in large numbers, particularly those from Africa. Indeed, SPACE 2023 will be truly exceptional from this perspective, as we have never had so many people intending to visit us from Africa. Côte d’Ivoire, Benin, Togo, Senegal, Nigeria, Congo and Ghana have all announced large delegations of economic operators and heads of inter-processional associations. Three ministers (from Benin, Côte d'Ivoire and Togo) have also been confirmed. All these stakeholders are coming to SPACE looking for answers in the fields of genetics, animal farming equipment, feed and animal health.
The Top Buyers programme run by Business France as part of the 'Export Begins in France' project, will be welcoming major international players to SPACE, including Kenya's leading aquaculture producer, Angola's number one poultry producer, Saudi Arabia's largest flour miller, Kenya's leading meat producer and Poland's largest animal feed producer, etc. China will be present once again, with a delegation led by the Governor of the Province of Anhui and former Minister of Agriculture. They wish to develop partnerships with French companies in the field of animal genetics.
A broad range of delegations that place SPACE at the top of the list of exhibitions offering solutions for the world of animal farming. Rennes is the place to be for professionals from all over the world coming to look for ways to develop or move towards food sovereignty in their own countries. It is a fine and fair acknowledgement of the know-how and high-quality offer that the regions of Western France and Brittany regions in particular are able to provide thanks to the work of its farmers and businesses.
