Novus new sales manager supports dairy farmers

June 7, 2024 - Martin Behr, DVM, joined Novus earlier this year as the new sales manager serving dairy customers in the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland). With his extensive background, Dr Behr is brining more than sales pitches to customers.

"We're very glad to have Martin join the Novus dairy team in Europe," says Regional Sales Manager for Dairy in EMEA Freek van Essen, DVM. "His extensive experience in dairy over the last 20 years enables him to provide advice on a full range of situations or challenges. He is not only a dairy expert, but is also customer-focused and able to respond fully to the needs of the customer."

With degrees in veterinary medicine from VetMed University of Budapest (Hungary), the University of Giessen (Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen in Germany), and the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover (Stiftung Tierärztliche Hochschule Hannover in Germany), Dr Behr's extensive knowledge in ruminant physiology, reproductive health and udder health allows him to provide a more comprehensive perspective on challenges and solutions in the dairy barn.

"Dairy farmers in this region don't want to be reactionary," Behr says. "If you are reacting to a problem, it's already costing you time, energy and money. Future-oriented farmers understand that healthy cows are high-producing cows. My goal is to help farmers optimise the health and performance of their herds, making them proactive instead of reactive."

Before joining Novus, Dr Behr served as business unit manager for ruminants at Ceva Tiergesundheit GmbH, ruminant technical manager at MSD Animal Health UK, cattle technical services manager at MSD Sharpe & Dohme GmbH, and key account manager at Essex Tierarznei (now MSD).

Novus is the intelligent nutrition company providing solutions for the global animal agriculture industry. The company's dairy portfolio includes bis-chelated organic trace minerals and methionine solutions, as well as a network of experts around the world to provide guidance on management best practices.
