Indian spurns cotton in favour of soya

Indian farmers are shifting from cotton to soyabeans after crops loss and poor market conditions in 2011.

Cotton cultivation in India could shrink by as much as 20 percent this year according to a report in the India Times.

Low demand for cotton seeds as well as fertilizers clearly indicates this, agriculture input traders said on Tuesday.
