GRAPAS Innovations Conference, the Aqua Feed Extrusion Conference and Build my Feedmill have been postponed
Milling and Grain's range of conferences, which were due to take place as part of both VIV MEA and VICTAM Animal Health and Nutrition Asia, have now been postponed, following the postponement of both VIV MEA and VICTAM Animal Health and Nutrition Asia.
Earlier today, VIV and VICTAM announced that both VIV MEA and VICTAM Animal Health and Nutrition Asia, both due to take place this month in Abu Dhabi and Bangkok respectively, will be postponed to ensure the optimal health and safety of all attendees and exhibitors.
Both events have been rescheduled to the following dates:
- VICTAM Animal Health and Nutrition Asia will take place on July 9-11th, 2020 in Bangkok, Thailand
- VIV MEA will take place August 31-September 2nd, 2020 in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
As a result of this, Milling and Grain's conferences will be postponed also.

International Grains Council (IGC) Market Report
Including upward adjustments for wheat, maize and barley, the estimate for world total grains (wheat and coarse grains) production in 2019/20 is 2m t higher m/m (month-on-month), at 2,172m. Mainly because of a reduction for wheat feeding, the forecast for consumption is trimmed, and with larger supplies but reduced use, the outlook for total grains stocks is boosted by 4m t, to 604m, a drop of 21m y/y (year-on-year). The figure for trade (Jul/Jun) is raised by 2m t, to 379m, mostly reflecting increased wheat shipments.
With the number for India lifted from the last GMR, the projection for world wheat harvested area in 2020/21 is almost 1m ha higher m/m, at 221m, an increase of two percent y/y. Largely reflecting the change for India, some 4m t is added to the outlook for global wheat production in 2020/21, to a new peak of 769m.
Stemming from upgrades for South American producers, world soyabean output in 2019/20 is forecast 3m t higher m/m, at 345m, albeit still five percent lower y/y on a heavily reduced US harvest. With consumption seen unchanged from before, stocks are lifted by 3m t, to 39m (-28% y/y); most of the increase is due to the major exporters as an upgrade for Brazil compensates for a reduction in the US owing to a slightly more optimistic export outlook. Trade is pegged 1m t higher m/m, at 153m (+1% y/y).
An improved outlook for India offsets reductions for other Asian producers, including Thailand, leaving global rice output in 2019/20 steady m/m, at 499m t, just short of the prior year's peak. Global use is seen little-changed y/y, at 495m t. Together with a slight cut to carry-in stocks, the Council's forecast for aggregate inventories is maintained at 177m t (173m). The trade figure is broadly steady m/m, at 44.2m t (42.5m), well below past peaks.
With declines for all the components other than rice, the IGC Grains and Oilseeds Index (GOI) weakened by three percent m/m.

VIV MEA 2020 Postponed
VIV MEA management team has decided to postpone VIV MEA 2020 to August 31st – September 2nd, 2020 in Abu Dhabi due to the situation report #39 from the WHO published on February 28th in which the risk assessment for the regional level as well as the global level changed from high to very high.
This decision has been taken after careful consideration and in the interest of exhibitors and visitors and, above all, to protect the health of all attendees.
Despite the fact that the UAE remains open for travel and has employed the strictest medical and hygiene protocols the majority (>75%) of the exhibitors agreed that the postponement of the event is the best solution and have therefore confirmed the decision to move their participation.
In light of the above-mentioned VNU Exhibitions Europe | Jaarbeurs as Organizer of VIV MEA 2020 took responsibility and acted on its rights to postpone the event. The participation agreements remain fully effective.

The grain and feed industry mourn the loss of Kevin Miles
Kevin Miles, a long time supporter of the Kansas Agri Business Expo and the Kansas Grain and Feed Association and family man has passed away. Kevin was the President of Rolfes@Boone, a turnkey aeration, dust control, and hazard monitoring company based in Iowa, USA.
Kevin was also very active in the GEAPS, and very involved in the Chamber of commerce of Boone over the year. He also received the Corbett Award in 2001, which was presented by his peers for outstanding service to the grain industry.
His funeral is being held at 10.30am tomorrow, Monday March 2nd at the Augustana Lutheran Church in Boone, Iowa. Kevin's family have asked that in lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the Des Moines Area Community College Foundation (of which Kevin served on the Board) or to Augustana Lutheran Church.

Tapco company profile
Tapco was conceived in the early 1970s by Paul D Taylor, President and Ted W Beaty, Retired, to fill a void in the elevator bucket industry. At that time, there was only one manufacturer of non-metallic buckets in the USA all the other buckets were made from fabricated steel. With the inherent problems of steel buckets and the limited range of the existing polyethylene brand, the time was right for Tapco.
The company has been in its own 92,500 square foot facility for over 25 years. This has allowed them to utilise injection moulding ‘in house’ for better control and cost effectiveness.
