I’Anson
Brothers, one of the UK’s leading, independent, family-owned farm feeds
businesses has appointed two new members of staff to support its ongoing growth
and development.
Andrew Harrison and John Wilson have joined the North Yorkshire company as a Nutritionist and Sales Manager respectively.
Mr Harrison joins the firm fresh from achieving a first class honours degree in Agriculture with Animal Science from Harper Adams University and he has already been awarded the British Society of Animal Science Academia Prize, the Worshipful Company of Farmers Prize and the Royal Association of British Dairy Farmers Dairy Student of the Year award.
Mr Harrison’s role will include formulating rations for customers, visiting
farms alongside the company’s sales staff and providing technical advice both
internally and externally.
John Wilson brings a wealth of experience in agriculture, after spending the last twelve years with Novartis Animal Health, where the majority of his time was spent as Agricultural Development Manager.
Mr Wilson’s main responsibility will be the management of the sales team, as well as developing sales nationally through the merchant trade.
Both appointees come from farming backgrounds, with Mr Harrison having grown up on a dairy and sheep farm in the Forest of Bowland, which he still helps to manage.
Similarly, Mr Wilson continues to run his own farm, which includes a flock of ewes and a herd of pedigree beef Shorthorn cattle.
Now into its second century of business, I’Anson Brothers is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of animal feedstuffs and has been serving farmers in Yorkshire and the North of England since 1900 when it was founded in Masham.
It is highly regarded for its high quality product range and commitment to outstanding customer service.
Commenting on the appointments, I’Anson Brothers Managing Director, Chris I’Anson, said: “Both Andrew and John come to us with much academic and professional experience in agriculture. In common with all our staff, they have a real passion for the industry, which is invaluable as we pride ourselves on delivering a knowledgeable, thorough and enthusiastic service for our customers.”
Adding, “My family have been I’Anson customers for many years, and when I came to look for employment after finishing my studies, I’Anson Brother’swas my first choice. I am looking forward to combining my practical and technical experience to help I’Anson Brothers customers.”
John said: “I’m incredibly excited to be joining the company and to have the opportunity to help further develop the business. Having spent so long at such a large organisation, I can’t wait to get involved with this smaller, dedicated and talented team and have a real impact on the direction of the business. Everyone here has an incredible understanding of the industry and it’s great to be working with such like-minded people!”
I'Anson Brothers is one of the UK's most successful specialist suppliers of farm feeds for sheep, dairy and beef cattle as well as micronised ingredients. In October, the company signed its largest farm feeds export order in its 116 year history and began exporting over 200 tonnes of animal feed to a Cypriot company involved in the production of Halloumi cheese.
