At its current London facility, Entocycle feed local waste such as surplus fruit and vegetables to the insects. Which is understood to have less of an environmental footprint than traditional feed ingredients such as soy or fishmeal.

According to reports, the planned factory, is set to be located outside London and with funding from (ISCF), will be able to process 33,000 tonnes of food waste a year.
