Andritz Group buys majority share in Shanghai Shende Machinery

The Andritz Group has acquired an  80 percent share in the Shanghai Shende Machinery Co. Ltd.

Shanghai Shende Machinery Co. Ltd was established in 1992 in cooperation with Germany based Munch Group, and has since then  developed a good  position and excellent reputation in the Chinese marketplace as provider of cost effective feed and biomass technologies and solutions. 

During the recent years Shende has successfully developed a new technology business within the China and South East Asia bio-fuel sector, where the Shende pelleting technology and plant solutions has proved its performance and reliability. 

Shende  is today renowned for quality feed processing machines and feed plant solutions, as well as high quality pelletmill dies and other aftermarket products and services to feed plants and biomass pelleting plants.

The technologies, project design solutions, customer base and market segments of Shende are considered to be an excellent addition to the current business and growth strategy of Andritz Feed & Biofuel in China as well as other markets outside China.

Shende will be operated from the Shende plant  in Songjiang district Shanghai, and  will be managed by Mr Ren Shu and the team which during the last 20 years has built up the technology and market position of Shende. 

Shende product lines, project design and aftermarket offerings will be streamlined and marketed as separate brand relative to Andritz Feed & Biofuel brand product lines and services in the market.

Andritz and its very strong technology position in the global market, will in its ownership of Shende further enhance the development of Shende technologies and services to its customers, and make the investments needed to support  further growth of Shende in the China domestic market as well as export business. 

Andritz Feed & Biofuel operates in China under Andritz China Ltd. with manufacturing plant in Sanshui, Guangdong  Province  together with  project engineering and sales  offices located in Liyang City, Jiangsu Province.

A seminar with a difference: Digital Engineering in Feed Manufacturing

VIV Asia is to host a new type of seminar under ‘CropTech-FeedTech 2013’, one of its three specially themed events which will run alongside this year’s exhibition which takes place in Bangkok’s BITEC Centre from March 13-15, 2013.

Called ‘Digital Engineering in Feed Manufacturing’, this unique seminar is free to those working in the area of mill technology and aims at providing background information on intelligent solutions that have been introduced to address processing chain dilemmas.

“What’s unique for our industry about this event is it’s format,” says Roger Gilbert, publisher of Grain and Feed Milling Technology magazine and the chairman of the two-hour seminar. “There will be seven or eight very short presentations made by supply companies that have developed products either using or that use digital technologies to improve the feed manufacturing process.

“Following these presentations, speakers will be encouraged to discuss their developments and how they have or will impact feed manufacturing for the benefit of the feed manufacturer and the farmer. That wide-ranging discussion should highlight some important issues about the potential of digital technology for our industry going forward.

“We will then open the discussion to questions and comments from attendees. This will be an interesting part of the session, where equipment suppliers can gain some feedback while feed manufacturers can gain a fuller understanding of the benefits that digital engineering is delivering in terms of cost and efficiency,” adds Mr Gilbert.

The debate has been structured along the lines of the production, chain from delivery, through storage and grinding to pelleting and processing, cooling and drying to product storage and dispatch. Companies participating include Foss, Adifo, Amandus Kahl, Wenger, Buhler, Andritz, Agentis and others.

There are limited spaces for audience participation and Mr Gilbert advises those with an interest in digital technologies in the feed manufacturing process to register early to avoid disappointment.
