International Grain Trade Conference & Exhibition “Asia – Russia

The Russian Grain Union is partnering with Japan-based  Sojitz Corp.  to organise  the  February 21-23, 2nd International  Grain  Trade  Conference & Exhibition  “Asia – Russia.”  The event, which will be held at the Shangri-La Hotel Singapore, has become a key event for the development of grain export relations between Russia and South East Asian countries. The 1st International Grain Trade Conference “Asia – Russia,” (please see the results) which was held in February 2010 in Singapore, had more than 200 participants from 21 countries including Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, Vietnam and Philippines.

Japanese company enters compound feed market in Cambodia

Sojitz a Japanese based corporation has entered the feed business in Cambodia by acquiring 10 percent interest in Sichuan New Hope Agribusiness (Cambodia) a feed manufacturer in Cambodia owned by New Hope Group, China’s largest livestock and feed company.

Sojitz is supplying cost-competitive feed in the Mekong district with a focus on Cambodia and Vietnam through these feed companies and by making use of the Cai Mep Agriculture Port. This is ASEAN’s largest special-purpose grain port, which is owned by Interflour Vietnam Limited and in which Sojitz holds a 20 percent interest. Read more ...

New joint venture plans animal feed plant in Vietnam

A new animal feed plant planned for Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam in a joint investment between Japanese firm Sojitz and Kyodo Shiryo. The Animal feed plant will be built on the outskirts of Ho Chi Minh City, it is expected to be operational by 2013 and will have a total processing capacity of 200,000 tons annually. the Japanese companies will investment about 2 billion yen about (US$26 million).
