Event: Bali to host Indo Livestock 2013

Indo Livestock 2013 - Indonesia's No.1 International Livestock, Feed & Fisheries Industry Event in Nusa Dua / Bali

Bali will be the host for Indo Livestock 2013 - the 8th Indonesia's Livestock, Feed and Fisheries Industry Expo and Forum - to be held from 5-7 June in Nusa Dua. It is organised by PT Napindo Media Ashatama. MEREBO Messe Marketing based in Hamburg/Germany is in charge of European and American participants.

Indo Livestock will take place in 2013 in Bali for the first time as it is the main gate to enter the market of eastern Indonesia. The show will occupy 6,000 sqm at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center. The last Indo Livestock in 2012 in Jakarta attracted 471 exhibitors from 40 nations and more than 14,000 trade visitors.

MEREBO will organise the 'Europe & America Pavilion' dedicated to companies, associations, chambers and trade press of both continents.

300 delegates at last years symposium

The flour improvement specialist Mühlenchemie will be holding its Fourth International Symposium in Hamburg on September 8-9, 2011. Under the motto “Future of Flour”, millers, research scientists and representatives of the milling industry from all parts of the world will exchange information on their latest findings in the field of flour processing, flour improvement and flour fortification and discuss possible new applications.

During this two day event 28 internationally renowned speakers from 18 countries will hold papers on the leading topics “The Future of Wheat”, “Emerging Asian Wheat Producers”, “Milling”, “Flour Fortification”, “Science & Technology”, “Baking” and “Ingredients”. Dioxin scandal: Fat supplier files for bankruptcy

The feed company Harles and Jentzsch, which is accused of causing the German dioxin scandal, has filed for bankruptcy. Harles & Jentzsch from Uetersen in Schleswig-Holstein on Wednesday afternoon at the District Court of Pinneberg submitted an application for insolvency. As a provisional liquidator, the court had appointed a lawyer from Hamburg.

The company is suspected of having marketed dioxin-contaminated industrial fats as feed fats and thus caused the recent dioxin scandal where thousands of farms are involved that have received contaminated feeds. Last week already the GMP+ accreditation of the company was withdrawn. Sources said Harles & Jentzsch had GMP+ certification for its major processing unit, but the contaminated fats were processed at a different location which was not audited.

The People's Republic of China has halted the imports of eggs and pork from Germany from fear of containing too much dioxin, press agency AFP reports. The border has been closed even for products in which traces of German pork or eggs have been processed. This was made public by the Chinese watchdog for food safety. The ban has been put in place by January 11. Ships that have left Germany for China, loaded with potentially contaminated products, will not be sent back but will have to be tested for dioxin.
