According to a recent report from Reuters, Russia has sent 25,000 tonnes of wheat in humanitarian aid to North Korea after last year's drought hit its rice production, the Russian embassy to North Korea said on social media on Thursday.
The vessel Polina delivered Russian wheat to the country from the Black Sea port of Novorossiisk, it said. Its crew had been put in quarantine amid the global coronavirus outbreak.
The vessel was being unloaded in an isolated zone of a North Korean port and the process would be completed on 26-27th May as rains are expected to arrive soon, the embassy added.
