According to a recent publication in an official newspaper, Romania has suspended the export of cereals and some food products to non-EU countries from last week until the declared emergency from COVID-19 has passed.
The regulation includes that some products such as wheat, barley, oats, rice, soybeans, wheat flour, sugar, sunflower and safflower oils, cottonseed oil and biscuits, none of which will not be exported to non-EU countries during the current emergency situation.
EU member states can also import these products from Romania only if they demonstrate that they will evaluate them and that they will not be re-exported domestically or within the European Union.
The regulation also foresees that agricultural markets in Romania will remain open throughout the state of emergency.
In the statement made last week, it was reported that the state of emergency throughout the country was decided to extend one month until mid-May.
