According to the Bulgarian Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry, the expected grain harvest in wheat this year will reach approximately five million tonnes. In line with the announcement made by Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forestry, Desislava Taneva, Bulgaria will maintain its self-sufficiency in bread and feed this year. According to the statement made by the minister, the country is one of the leading countries in grain exports to third-world countries and the EU.
"We will definitely maintain the status of a major grain exporter in the current sales period," Minister Desislava Taneva notes. 'According to the estimates of the European Commission Field Crops and Olive Oil Committee, our country will produce 5.8 million tonnes of produce. Real returns are always 10-to-15 percent higher than estimates. At the moment, we do not expect the prices of basic needs such as flour and bread to increase.'
