On Saturday the 25th of September at the Cremona palace Hotel, the first technical day dedicated to the milling industry that the Antim association has organised since the forced stop imposed by the pandemic emergency was held. A must-attend event for everyone who works at mills or who, in some manner, operates in the milling sector. Great attendance was expected, thanks to an interesting program that saw Ocrim and the Milling Hub as protagonists.
The technical day began with the conference 'Water: pros and cons in the mill', presented and moderated by Antim president, Lorenzo Cavalli. Many experts were involved, including Marco Galli, director of the technology department at Ocrim, AntoniaMatarese, building engineer at PI-SA, Stefano Mazzini, sales director at Ocrim, and Maurizio Monti, expert in milling techniques. Each of them provided their professional contribution to the conference, placing their knowledge and skills at the disposal of the large audience.
Ocrim's contribution
Ocrim made a versatile and constructive contribution through the intervention of Marco Galli who, with his presentation 'Water at the mill: how to manage it', presented and looked into the themes linked to the behaviour and use of water at the mill, therefore from both a scientific and technological point of view, also presenting Ocrim's innovative proposals and strategies, in order to achieve - in the near future - the concept of the 'pathogens free' plant, without any compromise in the use of water.
Stefano Mazzini was given the task of concluding the conference with his 'Milling Hub – the future of traceability' presentation, in which he spoke of the new and futuristic milling pole developed from an idea of Bonifiche Ferraresi and Ocrim - inaugurated last July - and protagonist of the guided technical visit promoted and organised by Antim. During his presentation Mazzini explained that the 'purpose of the Milling Hub is to provide a customised plant at the exclusive disposal of those who request it. This customer will be guaranteed an excellent and completely traceable end product as the 'product's history' is unequivocally reconstructed, following the entire supply chain'.
At the end of the conference the many guests went to the canal port area of Cremona to visit the Milling Hub. Ocrim's experts - the company's millers and area managers - explained how it works and illustrated the plant's technological and innovative aspects.
A number of newspapers were also in attendance, to whom Sergio Antolini, president of Ocrim, declared: 'this is a genius idea of my brother Alberto Antolini, General Manager at Ocrim, and Federico Vecchioni, General Manager at Bonifiche Ferraresi. They deserve all of the merit of this great Company'.
