NGO's get criticised by the President of Indonesia

The Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has used a regular formal address to the Diplomatic Corps in Jakarta to remind other governments how strongly the Indonesian Government supports the palm oil industry. Leading developed country donors (the US, the UK, the EC and the Netherlands) are major funders of non-governmental organisation (NGO) anti-palm oil campaigns in Southeast Asia.

In a speech to Indonesian ambassadors and diplomats, Yudhoyono urged embassies to counter the increasing pressure from environmental NGOs on nations and companies to boycott Indonesian palm oil. This was a coded message to the embassies to reduce their support to environmental NGOs in question (principally WWF, Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth and the US-based Rainforest Action Network). French based feed additive company has new office in Jakarta

Olmix a French based feed additive company has established a new representatives office in Jakarta, Indonesia. Guy Jaeckel their new representative officer said that "he and his fast growing team had started a promising business in Indonesia where the potential to expand is tremendous". “Also, in 2012 we will put our efforts to establishing Mistral as a 'farm sanitiser', consolidate MTX+ sales and, last but not least, introduce our natural growth promoter MFeed,” Jaeckel adds. Charoen Pokphand, agrees loan for US$250 million for expansion

Indonesia's largest animal feed and processed chicken manufacturer Charoen Pokphand, has secured US$250 million (€183.952 million) loan from foreign and local banks to finance its proposed expansion. The expansion includes a new plant to be built in Cirebon, West Java, as well as a possible plant in Bali. “The company is aiming to expand its feed mill production capacity from four million tons per year to five million tons per year,” the president director said.
