28/10/13: VNU Exhibitions Asia Pacific roll out national livestock exhibitions in Myanmar, Vietnam and Indonesia

VNU Exhibitions Asia Pacific Co., Ltd. recently revealed the success of its ILDEX exhibitions that took place in Myanmar, Vietnam and Indonesia this year. 

The 2013 events welcomed more than 200 exhibitors and 10,000 qualified visitors from over 30 countries around the world including Myanmar, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, the Netherlands, India, South Korea and Japan.

Participants were able to exchange knowledge, update new trends and take part in business discussions.  As a result, ILDEX is rolling out a host of new exhibitions in 2014.

Following the success of its 2013 trade exhibition, VNU is set to kick start 2014 with the 5th installment of ILDEX Vietnam, scheduled to take place in Ho Chi Min City from 19 – 21 March 2014. As one of the fastest growing economies in the world, the exhibition will focus  on the Vietnamese livestock and agriculture market, incorporating a variety of conferences and technical seminars.

As well as its Vietnam exhibition, VNU has also initiated a new and unique platform - Ildex Thailand on the Move - that aims to consolidate visitors and exhibitors in Thailand's main provinces; Nakorn Sri Thammarat, Chiangmai, Nakorn Pathom and Nakorn Ratchasima.

With a population of over 66 million, Thailand is one of the world's leading producers of agriculture, livestock and food industry products.

The Royal Thai Government (RTG) together with the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), the Board of Investment (BOI), and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAA) are committed in leading the country to become the "Kitchen of the World".
 

With the support of the Thai government and related associations, ILDEX Thailand on the Move will  welcome the newest livestock, dairy and aquaculture technology in order to enhance and support the production and supply chain.

ILDEX Myanmar 2013 secures position as the largest national livestock exhibition in Myanmar

The 2013 edition of ILDEX Myanmar, held from 12th - 14th September at Tatmadaw Hall, Yangon has now made its mark as the largest national exhibition in Myanmar.

With 70 qualified exhibitors, international pavilions and a range of conferences and seminars, the 3-day event attracted more than 2,000 visitors from 18 countries including Myanmar, Thailand, the Netherlands, India, China, South Korea and Japan.

ILDEX Myanmar 2013 was officially inaugurated by the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries of Mynamar, Myanmar Fisheries Federation, Myanmar Livestock Federation, Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and VIV, the international trade show for livestock and aquaculture.

Exhibitor feedback for the event has been excellent, with many confirmations to participate in the next edition. The exhibitors this year have shown great satisfaction at the quality of visitors and their business opportunities during the event.

Not only did ILDEX Myanmar provide a platform to exhibit innovative technologies and identify distribution channels in Myanmar, but it also established a large business forum for suppliers and distributors, creating job opportunities for veterinarians, livestock and the agriculture sector.

ILDEX Myanmar takes place from September 12-14, 2013.

ILDEX Myanmar is Myanmar's first trade show dedicated to livestock. It was held for the first time in 2012 and the results were very fruitful in many aspects according to event organisers VNU Exhibitions.

Event: VIV announces pork education partnership with International Production & Processing Expo

In the last four decades, VIV has become the leading brand for worldwide trade shows, focusing on animal protein production. Today, VIV is pleased to announce that it is partnering with the 2014 International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE) in Atlanta, the United States. VIV and the IPPE will provide a comprehensive education program focusing on recent developments in the international pork arena at the 2014 expo in Atlanta.

The pork education program is a must for both European and U.S.-based producers who are facing challenges from their respective government and customers. This education program is called VIV International Pork Production Summit 2014 (VIPPS) and it will be held on January 29, 2014.

The partnership between VIV and IPPE results in a unique network covering Asia, Europe and the Americas. "VIV is very happy to co-operate closely with IPPE for the VIV International Pork Production Summit 2014 (VIPPS), scheduled for Wednesday, January 29. Together, we have confidence in presenting a valuable programme focusing trends, developments and best practices for the U.S. and international pork production industries," explains Ruwan Berculo, project manager VIV.

The 2014 IPPE will also feature a special Pig Pavilion that will showcase information about the international pork industry. Special cooking demonstrations of pork products will be held by local chefs as well.

The International Production & Processing Expo is scheduled Tuesday through Thursday, January 28-30, 2014, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. The IPPE will highlight the latest technology, equipment, and services used in the production and processing of poultry, feed, and meat products. IPPE is one of the 50 largest tradeshows in the United States, and the entire tradeshow is expected to include more than 1,100 exhibitors and 420,000 square feet of exhibition space.

Event: VIV Asia 2013 & Aquatic Asia 2013 ends

What a week this has been in Bangkok! The exhibitors spoken to by The Global Miller report a very successful event - both in terms of visitors numbers but more importantly in their relevance to the feed industry.

Comments from the visitors we spoke to ranged from very good to fantastic. It appears that most were surprised at the numbers of feed manufacturers attending what might traditionally be considered a animal agriculture show alone. The organisers have been putting emphasis into the complete livestock production chain and feed has become a critical part of that process.

According to Niek Reichgelt of VNU, the organisers of VIV Asia, says feed is part of the production chain and VIV represents all animals including fish and pets. He was instrumental is setting up the CropTech-FeedTech conferences - which were hosted by Perendale and Watt Media - which proved most successful in generating interest for feed manufacturers in the event.

"It's interesting that more than 30 percent of visitors have responsibility to some degree for both aquaculture and pet feeds. We are a complete livestock event and feed, in terms of machinery, ingredients and raw materials, is very much a part of that production chain," he says.

"In fact, we are so happy with the outcome of the Perendale conference format that we will offer this at all of our events in Europe and Asia from now on. CropTech-FeedTech brings a debate about new technologies to the feed manufacturer and explains what industry is up to in terms of its product developments. Russia is the next VIV show at which we will offer this interactive format. We hope to also offer it in Mexico and again April 2014 in India," says Reichgelt.

Some feed equipment companies' stands such as Buhler and a range of Chinese suppliers ranged from 100 to 180 square metres and were as impressive as any seen anywhere. All were on several occasions overflowing with visitors. In fact, two exhibitors reported they could not meet with all visitors a key points during the three day event. Friday afternoon, the last dray of the show, saw numbers dwindle somewhat but meaningful visitors were taking place as The Global Miller could still not get to some companies.

VIV Asia must rank alongside IPPE, EuroTier and Victam as a must attend event for feed manufactures everywhere!
