04/12/12: news round-up

Hello,
  • After 34 years working around the world on behalf of U.S. wheat farmers, Rick Callies, U.S. Wheat Associates (USW) vice president of marketing programs, has retired. USW also promoted Jennifer Sydney to director of programs and planning as she assumes lead responsibility for coordinating team-based activities, customer training programs and special events in the United States. “Rick has had a long and distinguished career with USW,” USW President Alan Tracy said. “His departure will deprive us of his wealth of knowledge and inimitable sense of humor. He will be missed, but we wish him the best.” More information...
  • 4B has invested in tooling to increase the capacities of its popular STARCO steel elevator buckets; as a result, all 4B’s STARCO steel buckets now have the same or greater capacities than comparable buckets of their competitors. The Starco bucket was originally invented by 4B Braime’s French subsidiary, SETEM, in the 1980s and was the first low profile elevator bucket to use centrifugal discharge on a parabolic elevator head to achieve much higher capacities on a given elevator leg. As such, the STARCO bucket has revolutionised the elevator buckets market. The Starco elevator bucket has been engineered to provide perfect fill and discharge for a wide range of products. It operates at wide speed range, up to 4.55m/s. More information...
