November 13, 2023 - An in-person trade fair with more than 2800 exhibitors from 52 countries, Agritechnica returns for the first time since the pandemic and, as in 2019, with full halls and a wide-ranging exhibition program. "The agricultural sector is facing momentous challenges," says Dr Lothar Hövelmann, Chief Executive Officer of the DLG (German Agricultural Society), Agritechnica's organiser.
"Russia's war is changing basic assumptions, the European Green Deal is reducing the choice of available farm inputs, the interest rate policy is demanding forward-looking investment planning and climate change requires resilient production processes. This can only be off-set through ingenuity and innovation," explains Hövelmann at today's press conference.
With an outstanding turnout of exhibitors, Agritechnica 2023 kicked off on 12 November, 2023 at the exhibition grounds in Hanover, Germany. Up until 18 November, the world's leading trade fair for agricultural machinery will be the venue for global farm equipment and agriculture. "With 2811 exhibitors from 52 nations, the exhibition grounds are fully booked. This underlines Agritechnica's prominent position as a global showcase for innovations, a leading business platform and a forum for the important issues of the future in the agricultural sector," said Tobias Eichberg, managing director of DLG Service GmbH, at today's press conference.
When it comes to innovation and growth in global agriculture, there is no way around European agricultural machinery manufacturers. "Digital networking and climate-friendly drive concepts form the foundation for the agriculture of tomorrow. Nowhere is it clearer than at this Agritechnica that agricultural machinery is the key driver for the agriculture of the future," said Dr Tobias Ehrhard, Managing Director of the VDMA Agricultural Machinery Association, today's press conference.
