Canada: research into methane emissions in grain fed pigs

Researchers at the University of Alberta's Swine Research and Technology Center have found that methane production in finisher pigs is affected by dietary crude protein contents of barley grain. This same problem was not seen using corn based diets. So reducing the crude protein (CP) contents in pigs diets altered its dietary content and fibre along with the composition of fibre.
