Russia is using more chickpea in feed to reduce demand for fishmeal in animal feed

In Russia now there is a clear tendency to reduce the amount of fish meal consumed by poultry farms, according to Lyudmila Khoroshevsky CTO for Poultry in the company, VitOMEK. Statistics show that poultry industry demand for fish meal in 2010 was 420 thousand tons, while in 2011 it was reduced to 390 thousand tons, and this year, experts predict it could fall to 350 tons.
