Hamlet Protein sponsors online conference on AGP free diets

Hamlet Protein, the Denmark headquartered global supplier of specialty ingredients for young animal nutrition, sponsored a two day online technical conference in China. The China Animal Agriculture Association (CAAA) organised the event. With a focus on diet formulation without the use of anti-biotics, the conference attracted more than 400,000 attendees from academia, industry and advisory.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China is now implementing restrictions on the use of veterinary antimicrobials, as it believes that without antibiotics in animal feed, the health of animals will be better promoted, microbes' resistance to antibiotics will be lowered and food will become safer to eat. This means Chinese producers need to look for alternative ways to keep their animals healthy during the production cycle.

Erik Visser, Hamlet Protein CEO commented, 'Countries all over the world are gradually phasing out the use of anti-biotics in livestock feed. While such a change is challenging, we are convinced it will also bring opportunities for upgrading China's feed, animal health and general livestock-farming industries. Through our product portfolio, global knowledge and knowhow, we can help Chinese producers in this transition.'

Hamlet Protein hosted two sessions during the conference. 'How to use high quality protein ingredients in the AGP free and low ZnO' by Prof Piao from China Agri University and 'Application and Innovation of Hamlet Protein in AGP Free Diets' by Dr Eugene Li.

'Hamlet Protein is committed to the Chinese livestock industry. We bring a proven track record in formulating diets without AGP and ZnO from markets that have banned these substances already. Now we are ready to share our experiences and insights with the Chinese producers,' concluded Mr Visser.

Hamlet Protein produces soy-based protein ingredients for young piglet, poultry and cattle feed at two production plants in Denmark and the US.
