During the working visit of the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine to the Republic of Türkiye, Mykola Solskyi met with the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Türkiye Vahit Kirisci.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects and potential directions for increasing Ukraine's grain export volumes, as well as the possibility of joint implementation of irrigation projects in the south of Ukraine.
"Restoration and development of irrigation is one of the priorities in the development of agriculture in Ukraine, and Türkiye today has a complete technological cycle - from design to construction and modernization of irrigation systems," says Mr Solskyi. He added that the implementation of serious projects will begin in full only after the end of the war, but the provision of preparatory works should begin now.
The Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Türkiye expressed his support for Ukraine and assured that Türkiye has high hopes for the recently signed Agreement on the safe transportation of grain and food products from Ukrainian ports, as well as the establishment of the corresponding Coordination Center in Istanbul, as it is directly related to the provision world food security.
Mr Solsky thanked the Turkish people and the Turkish government for supporting Ukraine since the first day of the war.
"A major achievement of this support is the signed grain agreement, which will allow the export of grain from Ukraine through three Ukrainian ports. Türkiye's role in signing this document is significant," he emphasises.
