Chinese state owned conglomerate Sinochem has been involved in talks with US based seed company Monsanto. The two companies have been talking for months to deepen their ties, people who are familiar the discussions said its an important sign of China's growing appetite for US crops and biotechnology.
Monsanto dominates the crop biotechnology market, a market that they basically created 15 years ago. Beijing-based Sinochem has a similar role in China, where it is the nation's largest importer and distributor of fertiliser and a large seed producer. Read more ...
