FAO strengthen quality control systems in feed analysis laboratory's

The Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) Animal Production and Health Division (AGA) held an experts meeting at the FAO, Rome on May 30 to June 1, to finalise a draft document on Quality Control Systems for Animals Nutrition/Feed Analysis Laboratories, based on ISO 17025:2005. This new document is designed to help laboratory personal maintain high standards, well providing a prompt, efficient and professional service.

The experts that attended were from the USA, Netherlands, Belgium, UK, New Zealand and Germany also a member of AGAS was in attendance. At the end of the meeting eight conclusions and eight recommendations were recorded. Some of the recommendations were a training workshop for laboratory manager and technical analyst.
