The challenge of feeding over nine billion people by 2050, is on track, productivity is growing at the rate needed according to the Global Harvest Initiative in a report that was released at World Food Prize event in Des Moines, Iowa. It highlights the fact that some of the fastest growing regions like Africa and Southeast Asia are not keeping pace with the rest of the world, as they are failing to reach the 1.7 percent required.
