The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), failed to follow procedural rules, due to the fact that they allowed senior members of staff to move to Syngenta, a company that produces genetically modified crops, according to a report by the European ombudsman. The report was in response to a complaint filed by German research group Testbiotech. EFSA and the European Commission have not admitted any wrongdoing. “We are very concerned that both EFSA and the Commission have tried to deny their responsibilities in this case by rejecting our original complaints,” said Christoph Then of Testbiotech.
