FAO Food Price Index

Results of the United Nation’s Food and Agricultural Organization’s (FAO) Food Price Index show global food prices fell three points (1.4 per cent) from March to April 2012.   The fall was the first after three months of consecutive growth but remain at a relatively high level of 214 points.

The forecast for cereals production was for a small increase in 2012 to a new record of 2.371 billion tonnes, compared to 2.344 billion tonnes in 2011.  Read more...
