14/02/2017: Diamond V welcomes new ruminant team members

Diamond V® welcomes two new team members who will add to the company’s expertise and producer support network, Dr Tom Edrington and Bryce Chatt

Tom Edrington, PhD “I am proud and excited to introduce Dr Thomas Edrington III as a new member of the Diamond V team,” says Darin Henry, DVM, Director of Ruminant Business Strategy and Food Safety.

Dr Tom Edrington

“In his new role as Ruminant Technical Specialist – Field Research and Food Safety, Tom will direct North America-based beef field research and provide technical support for our team in the rapidly developing field of pre-harvest food safety."

For the past 16 years Dr Edrington has helped lead scientific discovery as a Research Animal Scientist at the USDA Agricultural Research Service in College Station, TX, performing research to improve pre-harvest food safety in beef and dairy cattle, as well as swine.

"Tom has developed and evaluated pre-harvest interventions," Dr Henry notes.

Bryce Chatt

"He's also examined antimicrobial susceptibility and mechanisms of resistance in foodborne pathogens." Before joining USDA-ARS, Dr Edrington worked as a Beef and Dairy Specialist for PM-AG Products in New Braunfels, TX and as a Territory Manager for Cargill-Nutrena Feeds in Wooster, OH.

Dr Edrington received his BS in Animal Science from New Mexico State University and his MS in Animal Science from the University of Arkansas.

He received his PhD in Ruminant Nutrition/Toxicology from New Mexico State University.

Over the course of his career, Dr Edrington has served as a member of the editorial board, associate editor, and reviewer for a number of microbiology and livestock production journals. To date, he has published 148 peer-reviewed journal articles, including 48 as senior author.

“It is a great pleasure to welcome Tom as one of the newest members of the Diamond V family,” Dr Henry adds.

“His strong background in pre-harvest food safety will help grow the company’s leadership in this emerging field.”

Bryce Chatt “I’m very happy to introduce Bryce Chatt as a new member of the Diamond V team,” says Ken Sanderson, DVM, District Sales Manager for Diamond V.

“In his role as Regional Sales Manager, Bryce will serve producers, nutrition consultants, and feed mills in Ohio."

Born and raised on a grain and cow-calf operation in Nebraska, Chatt began his sales career with Schering Plough Animal Health in 1999. Starting in Nebraska and later relocating to Ohio, he served the Ohio and western West Virginia dairy and beef markets.

After six years, he accepted a position at AgriLabs, working with veterinarians, dealers, and producers in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, and Kentucky for nine years.

Following AgriLabs, Chatt joined the animal nutrition industry with Virtus Nutrition where he has helped educate the industry on balancing fatty acids in a range of ruminant diets.

“Bryce is focused on building strong, long-term relationships with customers," Dr Sanderson adds.

"We look forward to adding his tremendous sales experience in the Ohio market to our team.”

He received his Associate's degree in crop and livestock production from the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing Management from Bellevue University.
