Thomas Julian Albert Hedges, a well known flour miller, has passed away

We are saddened to share the news that Thomas Julian Albert Hedges passed away on the evening of 9th August 2022 at the great age of 92 years. Tom (Julian to his family) spent his career in flour milling and passed his passion through to all three sons Simon, Richard and Peter. He spent his early working life at Clarks Flour Mill, Wantage, before moving with his family to East Africa where he worked for over 30 years with the Unga Group in Kenya and Tanzania. Starting as Mill Manager he worked his way up the ladder eventually being appointed the Group Technical Director - he left a legacy of well run and well invested plants and mentored many a colleague helping them to navigate their future careers.

Jennifer and Julian returned to England in 1992 and Tom continued briefly working for Henry Simon (Satake) in Manchester before retiring to Cassington in Oxfordshire, his place of birth.
