Ukraine conference addressing the future of Ukrainian agriculture
What are the wide-ranging consequences of the Russian war of aggression on livestock farming in Ukraine? How can sustainable reconstruction be assured? These and other questions will be the focus of a specialist conference on 16 November 10 a.m. - 12.30 p.m. in the Convention Center, Room 3B.
The war in Ukraine has serious consequences for agriculture, particularly for livestock farming. With the production and logistics infrastructure of agriculture largely destroyed in many places, availability of farm inputs and workers is reduced, while military attacks continue, often on the premises of individual agribusinesses.
People as well as livestock have become victims of the war. According to preliminary estimates, 15-20 percent of cattle, pigs and poultry have already perished as a result of the war.
High-ranking representatives from Ukraine's agricultural policy and economy will present the status quo, including the development of livestock farming in the current crisis as well as the need for reconstruction. The speakers will also present proposals for deepening economic cooperation with Germany and the E.U. so that successful reconstruction can result.
Visitors to EuroTier can attend the conference free of charge with prior online registration.
The organisers of the conference are the German-Ukrainian Agricultural Policy Dialogue and the DLG e.V.
