A farmer died after he got his shoelace caught on a grain auger and was dragged into the machine, STV News reports.
Jim Sharp suffered multiple injuries after getting tangled in the machine while he was working inside a grain silo on his farm at Newbigging Walls near Lauder, Scotland in March.
A fatal accident inquiry found the 66-year-old had gone into the grain silo and got his shoelace caught in the machine.
A statement from police officer sergeant Graeme Shearer was read out to Selkirk Sheriff Court.
In it he said he had unwound Mr Sharp’s overalls and jeans from the metal auger blade and found the shoelace was the item that had got caught on it first.
Procurator fiscal Louise Graham said: "The cause of the accident resulting in the death is that it appears Mr Sharp entered the grain silo but there is no evidence why that is the case.
"When in the grain silo his boot lace had become entangled within the sweep auger.”
