Are you planning to attend the HGCA’s annual flagship conference, Grain Market Outlook, on Tuesday October 14, 2014 at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre, Westminster, London SW1P 3EE in the UK? There's good reason to.
This year’s conference comes at a time when the UK crop sector is experiencing strong yields from the 2014 harvest, but also sustained downward price pressure on most commodities.
In 2014, the UK will have to return to the wheat export market for the first time in two seasons as well as recapture domestic demand. This is all in the context of record global production highs, uncertainty caused by geo-political events in key trading countries such as Ukraine, and changing grain demand in the biofuel arena.
The programme includes Patrícia Luís-Manso from Platts speaking on the European ethanol market, and Sergey Feofilov, Director General of Ukr AgroConsult, giving a paper on the importance and influence of Ukraine in global grain markets.
AHDB/HGCA’s Lead Analyst Jack Watts will be joined by Julian McGill, Senior Economist with LMC International, giving the outlook for grain and oilseeds markets.
