US agriculture giant Cargill Inc plans to buy Italian animal feed company Raggio di Sole to build its business in dairy and other segments. No terms for the deal were disclosed and the acquisition is subject to regulatory approval, Cargill said on Thursday.
Cargill, which operates in 66 countries and has had a presence in Italy for about 50 years, said the deal will also serve customers in the growing retail segment that serves owners of pets and hobby animals. Raggio di Sole has four locations in Italy and employs 150 people. Last week, Cargill bought Central American poultry and meat processor Corporacion Pipasa. Read more ...
